Aston
Martin V12 Vanquish
2001 -
2007
The Vanquish
was Aston Martin's first all-new release, with a large input
from parent company, FordMoCo. The Vanquish represents a
return to the British supercar, that was first created by
Aston Martin's fondly remembered DB5.
The Vanquish is the performance
topping model for the current Aston Martin showroom, being
larger and more powerful than the then-current DB7.

Mid-life revision in trim, and wheels-
2004
"Instantly visible from
the exterior are new 7 spoke 19 alloy wheels which
are equipped with Yokohama 255/40 ZR 19 front and 285/40
ZR 19 rear tyres, designed exclusively for the V12 Vanquish,
carrying the AML initials. The original 12-spoke alloy wheel
is retained as a no cost option.
"The luxurious leather interior in the V12 Vanquish
has also been subtly reworked to give customers the option
of new front sport seats offering extended shoulder contours,
which relieve strain on the driver during fast cornering.
Full leather specification means outer panels are trimmed
in plain leather, while the inner panels can be specified
in either plain/perforated leather or plain alcantara. Where
the 2+2 rear seat option is specified the seat centre panels
are trimmed to match the front seats. "

Die Another Day- 2002
The Aston Martin Vanquish was used as a Bond car, in the
20th Bond instalment, Die Another Day. The car was nicknamed
the Aston Martin 'Vanish', as through the intelligence of
Q and his team, they were able to make the car invisible
due to the use of tiny cameras and a specific polymer coating
creating camouflage. The car had the usual Bond car specifications
(rocket launchers, remote control...). The chase sequence
in this film with the Jaguar XKR, is one piece of fine viewing
well worth the watch. And the aural sounds from the cars
is to die for. Eon Productions built four 'optioned-up'
Vanquishes for the film. 3 standard cars were used for close-ups.
A Vanquish used for the ice sequence waspowered by a Chev
small block V8 to create more space for things, (rocket
launchers). An all-wheel drive platform was also used, from
a Ford Explorer, for more traction.
